"CAA will affect all the ordinary people of the country," says Director Vetrimaran at the Anti-CAA protest in Chennai
Director Vetrimaran met the people who were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Chennai for 16 days.
Speaking on the stage, he said that the CAA, NRC, and NPR are not just for Muslims. The law will affect ordinary people all over the country. He said that the Hindus outnumber the Muslims in the current detention camp in Assam. They are creating fear among the minorities of the country. He also said that the government is building Detention camps across the country at a cost of several crores.
He said, "Our silence in this situation is very dangerous. If you are being silent then it is going to create a big impact in a few more years. We should not let them separate people. Segregating people based on religion is wrong. Our rights are being questioned in this process."
"Non-Violence is the only way to win our needs. My full support will always be there. We are all united and we should face this," he said.
Directors like Pa. Ranjith, Amir and others have already extended their support to the protesters against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
